With version 6:

If I change a value but try to "hide" the change from my form validation (to keep the "Do you want to save changes" -message from firing) by setting fieldstate back to 1, GETNEXTMODIFIED() will detect and flag the change, but GetFldState() will not. I guess it sort of makes sense, after all.
