I understand what you are saying. The .dbf file that resides on my c: is just a copy of the one I will ultimately be writing to on our network. We have a novell network where all of our users have scripts to map certain network drives. We feel that these network drives are going to be permanent (at least moreso than my application) so that is why we go ahead and hard code the paths. I may look into that config file you mention for other apps though, because it sounds like something that would be useful. Thanks a lot!
