What is annoying are the comments that say, in essence, 'You are not using proper programming techniques', or 'If you were one of the "in crowd" you would already know that the way to avoid this bug is', or 'It is not a bug because there is a work around and if you used proper programming techniques you would have avoided the issue' or 'You must be doing something wrong because I never have that problem'.

Ken;

Good post! I am just getting too old to deal with the wrong end of the horse so I offer the following.

One thing we learn from any programming language is that there are limitations and we must learn two things:

1. The specific limitation.
2. How to resolve or avoid the problem.

Sometimes we can resolve programming problems and sometimes we have to use a different tool for a specific application.

As programmers we learn how to “jump through hoops and apply bandages”, with the hope that (in Microsoft’s case) the next service pack or version will “resolve all our problems”. Do not hold your breath.

What we do not learn as programmers is how to be civil. That takes training from the time you are born and is a part of your interaction with others. Some people will never learn how to be civil and it is not a part of his/her agenda. There are more important things to do in life.

To suggest there is even one bug in VFP is to be sacrilegious! You will receive the wrath of the gods for doing so! VFP is perfect in every way. Only imperfect people will dare suggest otherwise! The gods have been given infinite knowledge about all things related to VFP and such knowledge is only given to the chosen ones. In fact the chosen ones choose themselves. They have no time for the nonsense of others who do not possess his/her knowledge.

I think part of the problem is that some programmers besides being anti social are on an ego trip and have no time for others. Not everyone is perfect. Just ask the gods – they know. :)
