Terry;

Everyone has an opinion. As far as Castro is concerned, if all Cubans loved him as you state, why have so many Cubans left and continue to attempt to leave Cuba? I have seen some desperate attempts to leave Cuba, that have failed and often cost people his/her lives. Yet people continue to find a means to leave that country. I have many friends from Cuba that live here and they have no use for Castro. In fact they hate him.

Castro had a great sphere of influence as long as there was a Soviet Union to provide financial and other forms of aid. This ended in 1993. No money – no war.

By the way I am sure that we can find many sets of “facts” supporting life span in the United States and Cuba. In fact numbers I just found: United States 76.9 years, Cuba 76.6 years average life expectancy.

Now you and I may have a different concept of what the devil is. Yes, the devil comes in many sizes and packages. Perhaps you condone war or think that what the Castro regime has done on an international basis is acceptable. That is your opinion. There are many persons who are dead due to the Cuban military action in a number of countries.

The Castro regime made attempts to “convert” nations in Africa and Latin America to communism. This was accomplished through military intervention and revolutionary activities.

I remember a few countries that the Cubans “visited”:

Angola, Ethiopia, Nicaragua, Bolivia and the list goes on. In Ethiopia there was a ruling family, which had been in power for over 2000 years. Emperor Haile Selassie was killed from the activities of the 1974 military junta, which had the help of the Cuban military. We have many Ethiopians in my area of the world, who left due to the instability in their country.

Che Guevara comes to mind. The Bolivians knew how to take care of him. Who is considered good or bad is in the mind of the individual. We simply do not agree on the definition of good and bad.
