You may have read what Frank Camp posted. Now, I see the challenge posed by & macros to compiler.
However, it would be a good idea and very helpful, in my case and many other cases such as
Transform(&lcAlias..FileNumber
Upper&lcAlias..Name)
for the compiler to issue the programer a warning of some sort.

Thank you everybody for the various options/suggestions.
Full checking is nice. I have already correctd the error after it was reported to me at debug time so I don't need to go back and change the code just so I can get full checking. However, I will keep the options for my future use.
