I had not, and that's a very interesting suggestion. Thanks. I'll run it by my client. They believe, and I agree, that typing in 7 digits is actually easy to do with a high degree of accuracy in this application. It's not a heads-down down data entry, and while they don't want to be all day at it, it's not going to take terribly long. On first blush, I like the idea of 6 digits plus a check digit.
