I still don't see it any different. That happens here all the time. If you watch the news the foreign press is constantly slamming President Bush and many of them operate out of the U.S. and submit their stories from American soil. How many foreign journalists acused the President of going to war with Iraq solely as a revenge for Saddam Hussein attempting to have his father assasinated? I read it many times myself. Yet it could not be proven or disproven and those journalists were never forced out of this country. They are not expelled from this country unless what they state can be proven false by known facts or is out right libel. Most times if a story can be proven false later by known facts the newspaper or news source simply prints a retraction and the journalist sometimes apologizes but is not fired and is not expelled.

>Hi Tom,

>>Have you ever watched any of the late night television programs? Saturday night live? How about comedians? Politics and politicians are a good source of material for anyone with a sense of humor.

>I'm definitely not even thinking about comedy. That's a completely different deal. In Brazil we do have *lots* of TV shows, web-sites, magazines, etc, which main purpose is to make fun of politicians and whatever else. I can tell you: Brazilians make way more fun of their own than Americans do. I mean, we're *always* making fun of everything.

>However, my point is: what if a non-american serious jornalist goes on a respected source (such NYT) that does influence lots of people, and start slamming on the American president? I'm sure people will not laugh at that.
>
>please, don't get me wrong... I just enjoy understanding how people reacts to specific things... :)
