Because the Beta software has features the client wants now that are not in the current version.

The reality is I'm much more worried about my bugs than MS bugs. Also the history has been (discounting VFP 3) that VFP betas have been very stable. Actually what I want do requires no data writes and doesn't operate on live data so crashing isn't a concern
