239 out of howmany 100K? That's not alive ... that's kicking at windmills..... M$ has its agenda and all the hoopla in the world from a handfull of developers isn't going to make a difference. Its been tried before and fell on deaf ears....

>Have you seen the movie Young Frankenstein where Dr. Frankenstein says, "It's alive!!!"? I have and it was a great movie. Okay, so this is a little dramatic, but when you have worked with a great product like Microsoft's Visual FoxPro, you can't say enough good about it. Yes, it needs some improvement, but it is still one of the best database development tools on the market. Many of those improvements are coming out in VFP 9.0 and the free BETA will be released within the month of June 2004.

>Microsoft's Visual FoxPro is ALIVE as can be seen by the response on the following web site: (Please sign web site letter, if you agree.)

>When I departed work yesterday, there were about 110 developers who had signed on to the "VFP Open Letter to Microsoft". This morning, the number had doubled. This demonstrates that developers are highly enthusiastic about Visual FoxPro and want their voice to be heard at Microsoft.

>Visual FoxPro developers want Microsoft to give more creedence to this product in the area of marketing and some enhancements including more ease of web development. Many people have invested their time, energy, talents and dollars to learning how to use Visual FoxPro. Many companies who might have used Visual FoxPro in the past, have subsequently shied away from this product due to Microsoft's own lack of effort to enhance the product more fully and its profound lack of marketing effort (except within the development community).

>I know that Ken Levy and other VFP Team members are working every day to get people excited about Visual FoxPro. Many of us only desire that Microsoft would also do the same with their marketing dollars and voice, so that our investments in time, effort and dollars are not wasted.
