I'm not sure of the costing, but under this scenario you'd need a maximum of 5 CALs. However, you could get away with less. Each individual workstation has an NIC card. The address of the NIC card is used in calculating how many active connections there are. One machine can have multiple connections, but still only count as one against the number of licenses.

With so few users, however, have you thought about using MSDE? It's optimized for ten users and I believe that it's free. It gives you almost all (but not quite) of the functionality of a full blown SQL Server.
