Hi Alan,
You've to use WIndows XP to store files. See
Error 41: "Memo file is missing or invalid" error message when you access tables on computers that are running Windows 98 or earlier from computers that are running Windows XP mskb #
812696.
>I have written a simple application to keep track of notes for patients. The file has only a few fields, name, date of last entry, complete flag and a memo field that gets updated regularly. I have recently started having an infrequent error that the memo file is corrupt and must be repaired. I believe that the problem is really that the dbf and index is really corrupted because when I look at the number of records before and after the repair, the number of records decreased.

Is there any known problem with this configuration. I did the development on Win XP Pro and have never been able to create the problem stand alone.
