>It's happened again. A client has requested that moderate changes to an FPW 2.6 be performed and that some of the data be published to the web. I proposed a 200 hours project that involved moving the app up to VFP5; the technical architecture manager at my company claims that since it's going to the web the data has to be moved to SQL Server and --- well, gosh -- the app should be moved to VB.
>
>I run into this over and over --- people moving simple VFP/FP projects that were inexpensive to build and inexpensive to maintain to VB client/sever apps that cost 5 times as much and don't always work as well, let alone better. The app I described above only has 8 concurrent users!!!!!

>When will this insanity stop?
Tell the technical manager to look at
www.surplusdirect.com. This is one of the largest sites on the web and is Fox based. VFP makes an excellent C/S environment. The tech manager needs to stop listening to marketing hype and start listening to the people who really use these tools.
