A cursor IS a dbf. That said, sql operates well on ADO - and the back-end of course. And for the record, I can have just as data driven app using data from the back-end as I can with DBF's.

Your argument is absurd...

This is why VFP is a great data munging tool. fast and complex data manipulation on data source regardless of what the backend is. Well try that in VB or .NET. It simply is a nightmare. A clear no-no for data driven designs.
