Thank you for the reply. I apologise if I sounded upset by the lack of replies because that was not the case. Living 'down under' in Australia can sometimes be frustrating with time zone differences and being so far away from the exciting things happening to VFP in the 'States. It was more a case of "Hello, is there anybody out there?"

The memo field is one line about 3 cm wide (there are six of them across the bottom of the report), each set to 'Stretch with overflow'. There is room for the report field to 'grow' about 4 centimeters. It would not be possible to separate the memo into smaller pieces because the field needs to hold a variable number of children's first names from none to 20.

This problem only occurs if the 6th (far right) memo field has (any) children's names in it. Weird, ah?

At this stage, I am some way off getting VFP9 beta. I am on dialup modem as there is no ADSL available in my area. However, my next step will be to ugrade to VFP8 which I do have.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
