I don't know. You are getting a fatal exception error. What happens when you append blank (on the file) from the command window? IS it only on file that this happens too. Is it a commercial VFP accounting app (like ABBRA or Acc PAC)?
I don't know why the insert into is required for those DBF structures that have a function (and application object method). One of my clients has such a VFP system. I rarely (well really never) write default values into a DBF structure. But I did notice that those DBFs, where modify structure reveals a field that has an application method or function in the "default value" box, will "crash" when an APPEND BLANK is issued and the container for the default value method is not instanciated.
