Sometimes is not that easy. For instance, if you already have a maintenance contract for a whole year and the company changes management staff and then the new management does not want to change any hardware and/or software. Besides, there’s always a “smart ass” who says: “There’s no need to update anything, the system is working fine” so… keep using VFP 6.0.
This kind of people does not listen to any reasons since they are “Managers” and they “knows everything” :)
You’re right when you say: “If they insist you are probably better off not having them as a client”, but a signed contract ties you a lot.
I think I better review and modify certain clauses in future contracts. :)
