Hi Perry

Long time no see!

>I don't think even you could present a argument against the fact that if you are a corporate developer type, and planning on looking for another job in the future, your resume had better include other development skills then just VFP.

Nope. Would not argue that at all.

>There are probably as many .Net and/or Java development positions advertised on Monster.com that are within 15 miles of my house as there are VFP positions advertised for VFP within the entire USA for the entire week.

>Over the last several years, since you've been at MS, getting a job interview when VFP is the main thrust of your resume, has gotten increasingly difficult.

I would agree with you if VFP is the only thrust, yes.

>I think our choices are to remain like the guy who sticks by VHS even as his choices diminish as Blockbuster is modifying their shelves to hold DVDs, or to see the light.

OK, read my post again. VFP is a great jumping off point for a range of technologies. That was the point I was making.

>I would think it would be an ugly argument if you had tried to explain to your wife that you think all these companies don't know what they are doing if they refuse to see what a great development tool VFP is. As you enter your 6th month of unemployment.

Errr....maybe. The market is so diverse. However, anyone who pig-headedly sticks with a single tool is going to be in trouble in the long haul regardless of that that tool is.
