Ah, I was wondering what you meant by a site oriented towards customers. If I understand your ideas, you mean a site where a potential customer could be informed of the advantages and disadvantages of having VFP-based software. That might be quite interesting.

Some points that would be interesting to inform potential customers, about software written in VFP, might be:
  • Requirements (OS and hardware).
  • Examples of applications written with VFP. (A link to the UT listing would help.)
  • Features that the end-user will likely see in a well-written application.
  • The fact that new versions are still in the making. This is to counter certain well-known rumors.
  • Links to persons and companies who can offer work (UT consultants and companies, for a start).
  • Sample applications, if some can be found. For instance, the test application for the Visual Extend framework is more oriented towards developers, but it does show off some nice features, available for the end-user.

    Groeten,

    Hilmar.

    >The VFP developers have proven to be very effective in setting up sites. However, all sites mainly serve their own (technical) needs. There are some places where prospects (managers from companies who think about using vfp for some new it-development) can get information about vfp, but all of those places are intermingled with 'our' techical info about vfp.

    >MS does not really market the product, but as far as I know, they also don't market its going down. There is really nothing to loose when we create a customer site. Why apathically wait until MS goes to market??

    >>>Since there are already many sites for vfp developers, I propose that this site aims at (potential) vfp customers. Thus, it can become a very important marketing site.
