>Not sure if this is a better suggestion, but for this situation, I created a composite class I call cmpSelDirFile. It has a textbox in which the user can enter the path, plus a button with binoculars that will use GetFile to search for a file or directory. It doesn't check that the path is valid, but you can just add RETURN DIRECTORY('This.Value') to the Valid of the textbox. You can download the class from
