They may have requested browser access simply because they don't know any different, they aren't aware of the options open to them. Find out for sure about that ... the only reason that they actually *need* browser-based access is if they want to access data from a computer on which they don't have the app installed and don't want the app installed.

In our application, the bulk of it is in a WinForm app. We have exposed some of the functionality via browser pages, but only a limited sub-set of the app for the few times that a user may need access to this functionality sub-set from maybe a home computer where they do not have the app installed. These browser pages can be viewed in the Windows Forms part of the application via the BrowserControl, or independently in a Browser (IE or whatever) if the user needs access "from home".

Not knowing your app, I don't know how much of this applies to you ...
