Hi Cyril,

Well, in once case, I was lucky and Kyocera Mita had a new print driver that used UNICODE that I advised my client to install. In another case, the client contacted the printer company and was advised they did not have a UNICODE print driver. The client had to use emulation mode for their printer and installed an HP laserjet driver that worked. I guess emulation is the key -- provided they don't mind installing and uninstalling HP print drivers until they find one that works!

The other solution is to find another report program -- a question I asked in my original post and have not heard about yet.

Thanks,

TFISHER

Other printers print garbage. From the Crystal Knowledgebase, they acknowledge that CR9 uses UNICODE. I contacted Kyocera Mita (one of the printers that printed garbage), and they said they have now added UNICODE to their print driver. I just wondered if there was a work-around for those printers that do not have UNICODE.

I understand that Crystal 9 used Unicode and that is where the problem is, i.e, if the print driver does not use Unicode, garbage appears on the report. Example printer: Kyocera Mita prints garbage.
