What were your own reasons for not wanting Norway to join? What were most Norwegian's reasons? I thought it was mainly because they wanted to protect their fishery and not let other EU nationals fish there.

I suppose that the more Norway's exports consist of oil, the less its economy would be affected by existing EU trade barriers.

...oil and gas were a third of total exports. Now that oil is over $40/bbl, perhaps it's more than a third.
