Not having an industry standard has not stopped Microsoft in the past. It's an opportunity to take the lead, "where no man has gone before."

It's hard to market a UDF. :) Come on John, at least spread the rumor in the halls, just to keep the VB team on their toes.

I know the standard in The Next Generation and afterward was based on 40000 + (1000 * years since first TNG season). The rest of the number was more or less random with a sequential order if multiple Stardates were used in the same episode.
