Perry,

Yes I know but my reply was primarily based on the discussion between Ken Levy and Gary Shurman. "...I asked if they were working on version 10. His response was basically - what new features would you like added? He felt that the product was very complete now and unless we as a VFP developers could come up with enough new ideas to make the product sell more, there would be no 10..."

To me this reply from Ken Levy makes no sense if the marketing is'nt changed. And I know it won't, like the vast majority of VFP developer knows it. So could this be interpreted as an indirect way to say VFP 9 is the last version.

It's always good to read between the lines. But it's also not good to make conclusions out of unsaid things <g>

>I was doing a search on MSDN last week and came upon a page that lists all of MS tools. The top section was their current state-of-the-art technologies, and down below was a section called "other technologies". Which section do you think VFP was listed in.

>Why is it so hard for some folks to understand that MS is providing a nice BIG window for VFP developers to learn other technologies? In particular, .Net.

By the way MS is'nt providing a nice window for anybody. They just found another way to generate mega-bucks because the old tools did'nt generate as much $$$$ anymore. That is marketing. When the customers are in their comfort zone and they don't generate much money because the level of penetration of the old tools are close to saturation you launch something else and convince them that they have to get it if they still want to be in the "in-crowd"
