That is because Karzi is basically a mayor and not a President. When my ex-husband came back from guarding the Ambassador in Iraq, it was pretty plain to him. However, to be fair, that is a transtional state that should change once the Afghani people can handle more security internally. It is a very slow process. Lets hope it does not take as long as Germany and Japan did. And they did not have the terrorist problem on the same level that exists today.

This I do not understand. Are you saying that if the U.S. publicly stated that she would only send over a minimal number of troops (to any warzone) because there was another war looming on the horizon that the world would not have participated in the war in Afghanistan? The policy has always been to not be 'spread too thin' so we can still be prepared for any contingenices. Regardless, I have not seen any evidence that troop strength was kept down for that reason.

The world jumping on the U.S. is really getting ridiculous in my personal opinion. I think it is high time the U.S. pulls its military out of every country and returns them all home. Who cares what country falls apart and what economy crashes because of it. No more asistance from or reliance on the the U.S. The U.S. needs to pull its money out of every country too. No more U.S. business overseas, no more U.S. loans, no more U.S. sponsored anti-drug actions, no more anything. The U.S. should keep its military AND its resources at home and stay out of other countries completely. Maybe the terrorists around the world and the left-wing liberals would be happy then.
