That is precisely what the plan was. However, we did not implement this plan. We are lucky that the fire occurred while we were still there. The soot damage seems pretty light in the office, but even a small amount can cause problems. The soot or smoke damage is heavier out in our warehouse area. We had recently just patched up an open area that used to let light and wind through that was about 2 inches wide. It ran all the way from the top of our roof down to the bottom of the floor. Had we not closed that area up, flames would have entered the building on our west side where we have three of my boss' vehicles; all have gasoline in them.
