Einar,

Orcas is a database editor used to work with installer files. Here is a link to a KB article that explains how to use it:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;255905

I'm glad you find my blog useful!!

>Hi Cathi,
>Thanks for your reply. What is "Orca"? I tried to open the msi file with notepad (notepad.net <s>) and did a search for "allusers". From what I could see in notepad is seems that it is already set to "ALL".
>
>So the only way of changing the FolderForm_AllUsers is to "hack" the msi file? Is it not possible to do this through the setup project?

>>Hi Einar,

>>In Windows Installer terms, it sets the ALLUSERS property to 2 if Everyone
>>is selected. Internally it's driven by the value of the FolderForm_AllUsers property which defaults to "ME" without the quotes. So if you go into the MSI file with Orca and edit the value of FolderForm_AllUsers from ME to ALL it will default to Everyone instead of Just Me.

>>>I have created a setup project for a new windows service I created. Everything works great and it was a pleasure to create a windows service with .NET, but is there any way I can change the default setting for the radio button group on the Select Install Folder screen to have "Everyone" selected instead of "Just me" selected?
>>>
>>>Is there anyway I can remove the choice for the user installing my service so that the service will always be installed for "Everyone"?
>>>
>>>Thanks,
>>>Einar
