Thank you for your response. The report textbox does not have an Opaque option as does a Form. I am using VFP 6.0 at work.

It most certainly does have it (even FPW did).

Look on the Format menu, under Mode.

Meanwhile, I have a theory about what went wrong "after lunch" <g>.

You say you put a rectangle in with a background color later during another report design session. Is it possible that this rectangle is in the same position as a 'layer' as your textelements?

If this is not involved, USE the FRX as a table. BROWSE FOR NOT EMPTY(Mode). What do you see?
