>Oh poo (*BG*), I don't live in Portland anymore. :o( Would you consider a telecommuter? :o) Actually, I lived in Portland (on SW Lancaster Road) on the westside and really enjoyed it. I used to work for Morgan Stanley in the PacWest building downtown. I remember how little parking there was and how expensive it was to park downtown. The ice in the winter leaves something to be desired too (especially along the Columbia River).

Hi Tracy,

This is my fourth year in Portland (and the U.S) I'm getting the impression that the winters are typically pretty mild, though end of December through the first two weeks of January this year were pretty bad - the city just is not geared up for heavy snowfall and/or big-time ice.

Your right about the downtown atmosphere - very European, which probably helped me get through the culture shock.
