The business has not right to think for the people. It has to think about turnover, profit, competition, etc.
If I start to think what my employees like - the company will fail and they will lose their jobs. Some times I prefer to fire some low qualified and to save the company, than all high qualified to lose their jobs and to "pay" for my softness and politeness
