Hugo,

>>the constant flickering of the main controls (Colors, History, Layers and Tools) when you put a big image (I just copied the screen, 1024x988, to the clipboard and pasted it) is it intolerable, is like having your monitor in 30 Hz refresh rate, making it, IMO a bad example of fast GUI interface.

It sounds like a milder version of the issue we see- you can actually see controls being painted, and it feels as if an analogue to VFP's lockscreen is needed? If you added in a few data-aware dropdowns and textboxes and ADO.NET and some nice 3rd party controls, I wonder what would happen.

Not sure why this is being blowin up into such an issue. VFP's UI was hopelessly slow early on as well. Java's was worse if you used it across the internet. We knew it and catered for it. Something seems different this time.

Regards

"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
