I would recommend he contact the county recreational department. Ours provides a lot of different sports/classes for kids in the area (adults too) like cheerleading, football, basketball, chess, karate, basket weaving, ballet, just about anything you can imagine.

All of our schools have flyers they send home with the kids from the recreation centers that list the classes and sports they offer every season.

>I know a professional chess coach, who was a coach back in former USSR, then moved to Israel and was a coach there and now lives in Columbus for a year. Our school was looking for a volunteer to be a chess coach. I organized a meeting between Yuri (the coach) and our school principal. However, she was not interested in that idea :( But she mentioned, that PTA may try to do so. I then contacted PTA members asking an urgent PTA board meeting to discuss this idea... They were not enthusiastic about it either, but asked me to prepare a flyer.

>Would you be interested to have your child playing chess with the professional chess coach? Well, now you may have this opportunity for $10 a month. It is up to us, parents, to make this happen. If you support this idea, you may contact Nadya Nosonovsky by phone nnnnnn or e-mail mmmmm
