I'm curious to hear what impact outsourcing overseas has had on your database consulting/development business, and what strategies you are using to overcome it.
Personally, we've seen a drop in requests for information from our website, although the real impact is the drop in quality requests we've experienced. And more often than not, prospective clients have been to elance, itmoonlighting or prosavvy and have had 50 bids that were all below the price we'd charge for the services they requested. I'm sure most of those bids won't yield the quality solution (and support) we'd deliver, but that seems to be of little concern to most small, medium, and a growing number of large companies.
We've increased our advertising, and repositioned our company to cater to larger clients. It is too soon to tell if it is working, but we have reason to be optimistic.
I look forward to your replies.
Regards,
Robert Carr
