Hi Viv,

Thank you for your reply.

My application is for family history research and there are a lot of web sites on the net with 'text' that can be copied and pasted. I have seen the corruption caused to a memo file when a user selects and pastes a piece of 'text' by looking at the memo using a hex editor. I was hoping there may have been a 'simple' way to clean the text stream before it is saved to the memo in my application.

I understand what you are saying about email headers, etc, but there are other hidden codes that may need to be converted/removed. There is no need for the users to retain the formatting; they just want to have a way to bypass the typing stage.

Thank you for taking the time to reply, anyway. Maybe somebody else knows of a solution to cleaning the text.

Regards...Rex
