We actually got a job working for a client that had been using a firm that did all of its work overseas - with a 'storefront' in the US. The company we did the work for was very excited to get someone local that they could use... they had a lot of problems because of the inability to communicate needs - and have those needs met.

Our focus is not on quantity, but quality. And that has to do with clients as well - we will not take a job that is not a win-win. And if a prospective client is shopping price, we tell them that we are not the lowest price, and we are not the highest price - but we have the expertise to get it done. Most of our clientele comes from word-of-mouth from our existing customers.

>I'm curious to hear what impact outsourcing overseas has had on your database consulting/development business, and what strategies you are using to overcome it.

>Personally, we've seen a drop in requests for information from our website, although the real impact is the drop in quality requests we've experienced. And more often than not, prospective clients have been to elance, itmoonlighting or prosavvy and have had 50 bids that were all below the price we'd charge for the services they requested. I'm sure most of those bids won't yield the quality solution (and support) we'd deliver, but that seems to be of little concern to most small, medium, and a growing number of large companies.

>I look forward to your replies.
