It's the same here. I used to live in Midtown Memphis. Had to arrest three neighbors, knocked one of them out cold. Then had a woman get shot at in my driveway. I moved to the suburbs, then moved out even further. Living in the middle of any major city is taking a risk with your family's lives. I don't worry for me because I carry a gun every day and am an expert marksman, but I can't always be around my family. They are safe now in the rural countryside where I don't have to worry about them. My youngest daughter was asking me about living in midtown recently. I took her to a website the police dept has that shows the crimes that have occurred in the last 30 days and showed her the difference between where she was wanting to move to, and where we live now. I think she understands it's about minimizing exposure to risk.
