>Reverend Franklin Graham, at the end of the service at the National Cathedral soon after September 11, 2001 and acting as a commentator for CNN, stated categorically that it might well be sensible to 'use all weapons at our disposal' to rid of the type who perpetrated this act once and for all.

I lived in a neighborhood in San Antonio Texas, near the Trinity Baptist Church, where Billy Grahm (and several other evangelical super stars got their start). Their careers began during the depression. Several of them were traveling Carnival Barkers. Billy Graham came out of this group. His tall, blue eyed, flowing hair stature had an immediate appeal to half starved south texas tenant farmers that did not want to "drink" their way through their obvious misery. Billy, like some many others learned that the key to success - err getting those last pennies and nickles from poor white trash - only required a consiliatory smile and the simple phrases from the good book:
"The meek shall inherit the earth"
"Good comes to those that wait"
and
"God Bless"

He stumbled, apperently, into a real good profit generation system. From Carney Barker to Tent Pulpit - and that was before the 12 step program or Jerry Lee Lewis's TV Evangelical brother (whats that guys name?) was caught playing little bo-peep in a motel room. Or Jim Baker (the "Praise the Loard Club") got nabbed paying hush money for his participation in a menage `a trois. It was even before Jim Jones got all them people to give him their money and then kill themselves (my favorite).

Evangelicism has a long and disgusting (err distinguished) history!*g*

As the PT Barnum once said:"Theres a sucker born every minute"

Let me close by saying "bless you"
Imagination is more important than knowledge
