>OK Dean. But in the end people are dying in the name of religion. I certainly agree with you that it is as wrong now as it was then. For the fanatics on either side it's the end that counts, not the means. That's always bad, in any endeavour.
I agree. Humans are by nature bad, corrupt, greedy, selfish e.t.c.
In some religion you can say that the people are "evil". But in other, you can really say that their religion is bad because it teaches it's follower to kill.

>But one can also research the conditions under which fanaticism flourishes. When everybody has a bmw, a big house, health and wealth then you rarely see religous fanaticism. It's a symptom of a much larger problem.
I don't drive a BMW or have a big car. :(
I drive a 98 Toyota (paid for) and live in a 2800 sqft house.
Well, is it our fault that most of the Muslim live under such oppressive conditions? I mean think about all the Muslim nations. How many of them really live well?
I really feel for all people that are living under some religious a$$ holes who care nothing about life and freedom. They treat their people like crap. They kill their own people because of their own short coming and paranoia. And blame us for their problems. We want to help, but it's difficult to help them if they do these things in the name of their god Ala.
