Thanks for response -- I'm glad to hear it's not Sybase that's slow. Open Client is certainly an option, one of our people has tried it out with VFP. However, we have heard there will soon (if not already) be a a simpler (and free) 32-bit ODBC driver available to do the job -- that's what I'm seeking. We have many users, some in other parts of the country, and don't want to get involved with Open Client. After all, it's very easy for PB/Sybase people here to access my VFP DBs. The reverse should be true, too. Still looking...
As to your slowness problem, some other replies make sense. Limiting page loading/updates to their actual use can speed things up tremendously, that's what I do, as well as only opening some forms when they're needed. I don't know much about Codebook, though, how much control you have over these things using it. Have you thought about using VFP?
