Thanks for the message, maybe I'll try and have a look at your suggestion.
I dont pretend to have any real knowledge on this subject just what I have experienced.
It's strange though because I went on a course about 4 years ago when it was just VFP 6. This course was Microsoft approved and the guy who taught us (who had a VFP MCP) told us that we must always set up an index on Deleted to improve performance. Basically I have always followed this advice.
I think this is one of the great things about the UT in that its such a wealth of knowledge and experience that you can always find out new things. I find it a great way to continually keep learning. If i post a solution for a problem with 20 lines of code you can bet your bottom dollar someone will manage to do it with 5 lines of code and then I'll remember that and the next time i come up against that problem i'll use the short method.
