>Marshall Tito of Yugoslavia held his country together and defied outside influences. When he was no longer in power a struggle for power began and is not yet over. When Yasser Arafat is no longer in a position of power, Palestine could meet a similar fate. Fighting amongst factions within Palestine could last for years. This would only add to the complexity of peace in the area.
Maybe if he had been a true leader, he could have left an organization in place that would be a legacy to his life. Instead, he chose to consistently reneg on agreements, never really put the screws to Hamas and condemn and try to stifle terrorist activities, ad nauseum.
