This is very much like what I have always believed, though not what I was taught in Sunday school. The problem is that many somehow believe that the true word of God is the Bible, written by GOD and that it must be taken literally. The bible was written by man with his subjective reasoning, bias, mystical explanations and limited understanding of things at the time. In addition it has been translated over and over and re-written over and over again. Have you ever told someone a story, they pass it on to another and another and after some time it comes back to you and you cannot even recognize that it is the same story? It should be a no-brainer that the Bible of today is much the same and even when originally written was not by the hand of God, whether it be the Christian bible, Book of Mormon, Qur'an or whatever your chosen "Bible" may be. IMO, God has no religion and no one religious group is his chosen people.
