>"Rational discourse" is the attempt to promote a point of view and barring any particular point of view takes it out of the realm of discourse. Either ignore him or continue to debate him on the merits of your case, but don't tell him not to engage in the debate.
Rational discourse is the admission that "you may be right, and I may be wrong, but together we might get closer to the truth."
I'm not "barring" the Creationist point of view. I'm telling Dean that the Creationist re-writes to evolution are dishonest and he should learn all the facts about evolution from someone that understands and accepts the ideas.
That sounds like a harsh statement, I'm sure. But in my own personal opinion, this world would be alot better off if this advice was heeded more often.
