I don't remember, I think it was actually about Gene Simmons and his family history. The article wrote about other musicians that shared a personal history having to do with the holocaust. I found the article interesting because Gene Simmons was verbally denouncing Muslim extremists by comparing their treatment of women with their treatment of dogs. He was incorrect though because the Muslim religion sees dogs as unclean and Muslims are not allowed to have them as pets (interpretations taken not from the Quran but from Hadith). I think they are allowed to have them only for hunting for food, shepherding sheep or cattle, police duties, guarding property, or as a seeing eye dog. I don't always remember what I read exactly correct though so I may be wrong...

>AFAIK he managed to get leave from the Austrian Army due to an arranged marriage that his parents had set-up with my grandmother's parents, who lived in England at the time. They hadn't even met before the marriage! Unfortunately this arrangement happened after he had suffered torture at the hands of the Nazis.

>My grandfather's original surname was Wreiter, but as soon as he moved to England he changed it because it was too embarrassing/insensitive/unacceptable to have a german-sounding surname when living in England at that time (even though he was Austrian). Apparently he chose 'Reid' at random from the telephone directory, although I'm not sure how much of this is folklore.
