Jim, I can not answer your question, but I can guess that the problem with ASCAN is that you want to omit one parameter, and VFP passes it as .F., giving you an error. I think you can pass -1 to the parameter you want to omit, and I think that would solve your problem, if you had one and it was not just a rethorical example, in which case I appologize.
