It is complete unsubstantiated nonsense to affirm that frameworks can't beginners learn OOP! In fact, one of the best ways to learn OOP is to disect and cogitate good examples of OOP, like frameworks and any other well-documented decent-quality example that comes with source code.
From what I understand you're saying, you would have people learn VFP OOP by mucking around in VFP and doing what, looking at TasTrade? Gimme a break. That's completely asinine.
In my opinion, speaking as someone who teaches OOP, you guys are totally off the mark.
