Could you try combining all the necessary data into one cursor (instead of two with a relation) and try that?
Did you mention it was HP printers involved? Could you try another type of printer and see if the same problem occurs? HP printers were notorious for bad printer drivers and VFP tended to pick up those problems where other applications didn't.
