You will need to use AdAware as well as SpyBot - Search & Destroy and other tools like HiJaak This. Google them. Bottom line is fighting adware/malware is, like all security related issues, one that needs to be dealt with in depth and at many levels.
imo, I also find SpyBot is more powerful than AdAware.
I suggest you also check out Ed Skoudis' latest book "Malware - Fighting Malicous Code" as a very good look into the whole malware problem and how to tackle the various issue involved.
