The thing is that most companies, Microsoft included, usually do not plan beyond the next generation, they do their planning some times AFTER the release of their product, so that they can have an open mind when they listen to the public's reactions and wishes. Microsoft has also openly said that when they showed VFP8 before VFP7 was released, they made an exception, and that we shall not expect that to happen again.
The best we can do, is give feedback to Microsoft, both good and bad, with bug reports and suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
