Hi Tore,
I agree with your earlier message that Microsoft has said they're looking at this internally and hinted that something will follow VFP 9. But regarding your statement below, I remember this differently in the past.
At the time of [most?] prior releases of VFP, Microsoft had already discussed and shown public demos of certain features of the subsequent version of VFP that was "already in development." This was typically done at a DEVCON or similar conference. They were proud to show off things that were coming in a release that was way out in the future.
I'd say the current behavior from Microsoft in markedly different regarding the next version after VFP 9.0.
They've made carefully worded and sufficiently vague statements to let us know that ~something~ is likely to follow. But it seems equally clear to me (based on their language) that it probably won't be a regular "next version" as we've seen it in the past.
They've even hinted at the possibility of something with a different name.
Like most of us, I'm curious to see what's next. But from what I'm hearing/reading from Microsoft, it's not business as usual.

>The thing is that most companies, Microsoft included, usually do not plan beyond the next generation, they do their planning some times AFTER the release of their product, so that they can have an open mind when they listen to the public's reactions and wishes. Microsoft has also openly said that when they showed VFP8 before VFP7 was released, they made an exception, and that we shall not expect that to happen again.
